My Addons

otentially Useful Raiding Addons

!BugGrabber
BugSack
These two addons suppress Lua errors while in combat and give way more information than the default Blizzard lua error window does.

BigWigs
Deadly boss mods works too, but I find it is just obnoxious with it’s alerts. It also uses WAY less memory and CPU.

Blizzard Raid Frame – Raid Icons
This addon will add raid icons (Skull, Star, etc) to the standard Blizzard raid frames.

Exorsus Raid Tools
Complementary to the boss mods and highly recommended for certain encounters.

GTFO
This should be mandatory. It makes obnoxious sounds when you’re standing in bad stuff.

TellMeWhen
This is a better, worse, and somewhat the same as WeakAuras2, but the UI is much sexier and easier for newer users.

The following addons are situational depending on raid role:

Fluff Addons:

BigWigs: Classic

BigWigs: The Burning Crusade

BigWigs: Wrath of the Lich King

BigWigs: Cataclysm

BigWigs: Mists of Pandaria

Coordinates

Def’s Camera Zoom –> Sets the Camera Zoom maximum limit higher than default.  This is helpful on certain fights where zooming out can be beneficial.

Def’s Class Colored Chat –> Lots of players use chat addOns just to get the class colors in chat.  You can achieve the same effect by right clicking the chat window tab and toggling, but this just automates it.

Def’s Gryphon Removal Service –> Removes the gryphons from the default action bars.

Def’s Healing Damage FCT Removal –> Removes the player’s own +healing and -damage numbers from the default scrolling combat text while leaving everything else selectable through the default interface.

Def’s Objective Combat Toggle –> Removes the quests from the objectives quest tracker and adds them back after combat ends to free up UI real estate and prevent distractions.

Def’s Tooltip –> Attaches the tooltip to the cursor or the frame and hides it when mousing over unit frames in combat.  Very simple, efficient, and least likely to create conflicts.

Raid Frame Resizer –> No longer do I use this, but it’s useful for people needed to resize the raid frames.
Changes the slider values for the default raid frames so you can make them smaller or larger.

You can accomplish the same thing by using this macro before you save the final raid frame sizes:

/run local n,w,h=”CompactUnitFrameProfilesGeneralOptionsFrame” h,w=_G[n..”HeightSlider”],_G[n..”WidthSlider”] h:SetMinMaxValues(1,150) w:SetMinMaxValues(1,150)

I incorporated a version of this in my custom UI addon.

SaySapped  (I have incorporated this into my TellMeWhen global group.)

Wholly (Requires Grail)

Incorporated into my Defectives_UI.

AutoCombatLogger  –> I’ve recently incorporated this into a version on my custom UI module
This is for people to post to sites like World of Logs or Warcraft Logs. I will always upload logs if I’m in the raid. Others might too.

ErrorFilter  –> I’ve recently incorporated this into a version on my custom UI module
This will suppress the error messages like “ability is on cooldown” when you’re smashing buttons or macroing things.

I Hear You Guild  –> I’ve recently incorporated this into a version on my custom UI module

I Hear You Party  –> I’ve recently incorporated this into a version on my custom UI module

I Hear You Raid  –> I’ve recently incorporated this into a version on my custom UI module

I Hear You RealID  –> I’ve recently incorporated this into a version on my custom UI module

I Hear You RealID Conversation  –> I’ve recently incorporated this into a version on my custom UI module

I Hear You Whisper  –> I’ve recently incorporated this into a version on my custom UI module

Simple Interrupt Announce  –> I’ve recently incorporated this into a version on my custom UI module
If you interrupt this is near mandatory. It can announce it, but it can also show you everyone’s interrupts in your chat frame.

Simple Taunt Announce  –> I’ve recently incorporated this into a version on my custom UI module
Same as Simple Interrupt Announce but with taunts. Tanks and some healers might want this info.

Skada Damage Meter –> I’ve recently started turning off/on the combat log with my custom UI module and uploading to warcraftlogs.com.  Noticable FPS improvement and “uploading in real time” means the numbers are only an alt-tab away.
Some people use Recount, but this uses less CPU than Recount.  Currently my DefUI automatically turns on/off combat logs for uploading to warcraftlogs.com.
